Aims and vision of the TIG:
The vision of the Teaching and Learning Science & Technology Thematic Interest Group is to discuss science and technology from a teaching and learning perspective. Schools in Europe and in the US take different approaches to the school subjects Science and Technology. In some countries, science and technology are separated and in others they are integrated with each other. The teaching of these subjects has both practical elements, in the case they develop technical solutions or explore nature, and theoretical elements that describe and explain events and situations related to science and technology. Despite some differences between the subjects a common objective seems to be literacy, scientific literacy and technological literacy. Therefore, it should be of major importance that the knowledge students develop prepares them for understanding, managing and evaluating science and technology and its impact on society.

We would like to have research projects, development projects, workshops as well as school examples of teaching and learning science and technology.
